Bring traditional textile repair into your everyday projects with Rosie's Speedweve Style Mending Loom. Inspired by the classic 14-hook mending looms popularized in England during the 1940s and 1950s, this simple tool makes darning, mending, and creative weaving easy and enjoyable.
Designed for both practical repairs and decorative projects, the loom allows you to reinforce worn fabric, repair holes, and add unique woven details to clothing, knitting, and other textiles.
The mending loom features two main components:
- Wooden Disc – Holds your fabric securely in place with rubber bands while you work.
- 14 Metal Hooks – Keep the warp threads properly positioned as you create the weft with the weaving needle. The hooks can be flipped open and closed to create a shed, making it easy to pass the needle through the warp.
Features
- 14-hook configuration
- Wooden disc with a 2.5" diameter
- Crochet hook included
- Weaving needle included
- Instruction sheet included
- Great for darning, mending, weaving, knitting, and decorative textile projects
Yarn Recommendations
The appropriate yarn weight depends on the number of hooks you use and the type of project.
When using all 14 hooks, finer yarns such as embroidery floss, lace weight, or fingering weight yarn are recommended.
For DK or Sport Weight yarn, skip every other hook when creating the warp. This provides additional space for working with thicker yarn.
A versatile and easy-to-use mending tool for repairing well-loved garments, extending the life of your textiles, and adding a creative handmade touch to your projects.
